At Least We’re Done. For Now. I Think.

Dear Reader,

This last week was a whirlwind of packing, unpacking, shifting furniture and herding cats. I’m not actually sure where I am when I wake up anymore, not to mention it was very hard to even find my laptop which is why I missed last week’s newsletter. Gack!

My view this past week:

Mystic adores unpacking. She had the best time playing with the paper and hopping into empty boxes. Raven wasn’t nearly as thrilled and she’s informed me that she’d really, really like to stop moving now.

I hear ya, fuzzy howler, I hear ya.

To make it up to both of them we purchased a new kitty tree so they can hang out with us in the new office.

The office is never, ever, going to be this clean again. But it will be filled with books and art and a pretty rug on the floor and all kinds of things that hopefully fill the creative well.

We’re all thrilled to finally feel like we’re settling in to both our new home for the next few years but also our new city. I’m surrounded by very pretty blue walls, a new office space that’s really coming together, and I’m a mere block away from a gelato place that makes THE best pistachio latte.

Happiness!

That means, I suppose, that I’ve run out of excuses.

*stares at the shiny new project waiting waiting waiting*

I love being at the beginning of a story. I love the world building and the planning and the brainstorming new characters into life. That’s where I’m at right now and I have to say it’s all making me giggle.

I’m ready!

*flexes fingers*

*stares at empty coffee cup*

Hmmm.

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to get back to work after taking time off?

Until next time,

After 28 years of marriage we’ve finally purchased our first bedroom set. We’ve been using Mr. Melinda’s teenage bedroom set and a dresser from Ikea all this time. There just always seemed to be other priorities but for the life of me I can’t remember what they were.
