I’m So Done With Packing! But I’m Not Finished So…

Dear Reader,
I’m so excited! And so very, very tired already. The Great Packing and Unpacking has officially begun:
Since we’re only moving a few blocks away I rented re-usable boxes instead of buying cardboard ones. I love moving crates. They stack super easy, they’re simple to move, and there’s no cardboard to get rid of on the other side. Plus, renting by the week gives us extra incentive to UN-pack.
Every time I start packing for a move I wonder why I didn’t agree to pay someone else to do it. Then I think to myself…that’s not any easier. They won’t toss the junk I don’t want. They won’t put items together the same way I would. They won’t label the same way I would.
I know this because the one time I paid someone to do the packing for a cross-country move I discovered they’d packed dirty trash cans full of trash and they’d put clothes in with the books. I didn’t unpack books for over a year.
You see the problem.
Hmmm. I may be a bit of a control freak in the area of packing and moving. Maybe.
We’re almost there! 4 days and counting…

One of the things I’m very excited about in the new place is the valet parking. No more going round and round and round in what we call the spin cycle to get to the top floor of the parking garage. Yay!
