I’m starting a new project today. I’m so excited! I’m sort of like the guy in the canoe, paddling my way upstream without a real plan for where I’ll end up. But I’m going to enjoy the ride!

The idea was spawned by a late night of drinking Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martinis and some brainstorming with writer friends at the Agent’s Conference in Austin. You ladies know who you are…and I thank you! I couldn’t stop thinking about this idea and now I’ve started it. It makes me giggle every time I think about it. Hopefully one day soon it will make other people giggle too. I hope the story I tell can live up to the inspiration that spawned it! As a tease, the story will center around a place from my past. A place in the middle of the New Mexico wasteland desert. A place I always called the Middle of Nowhere. I spent many years of my childhood there, and worked at the only place in town: a truck stop. And that, my friends, is where all the stories happen.

It’s not an ordinary truck stop. It’s full of odd things and people, and some of the things…ARE people. Oh, and a cat. Every truck stop needs a cat. This is the story of what happens when an ordinary girl gets dumped in the Middle of Nowhere and stumbles into something extraordinary and rather out of this world.

Sometimes Nowhere is exactly where you need to be!
